Chillspeed of Diss is proud to be a major sponsor of one of Great Britain’s rising stars in the world of international alpine ski racing.

Thomas ‘TJ’ Baldwin, from nearby Long Stratton in Norfolk, has been at the top of the UK’s ski team for several years now, having been British Champion at both children’s and junior level.  Now, in 2008 and aged 18 he is challenging for the top position at senior level also.  With the 2010 Winter Olympics looming large on the horizon, ‘TJ’ has his sights set firmly on a place in the Great Britain team and it is through the sponsorship of local firms like Chillspeed that he is able to train and compete at that high level.  Success at international level in any sport relies as much on funding as it does on skill and determination.

Supporting the arts as well as sport, Chillspeed is also proud to have been associated with funding the rebuilding of the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds, one of Britain’s oldest theatres.  Along with many other local businesses and individuals, Chillspeed of Diss is recognised as a member of “The Royal Million” group of sponsors who between them raised a million pounds towards the renovation of this fine regency period theatre.  More details can be found on their website: www.theatreroyal.org. 

Geoff is also an ex-Royal Navy diver and ex-Norfolk County rugby player so two other charities regularly supported by Chillspeed of Diss are the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, website: www.rnli.org.uk  and The Wooden Spoon Society, website: www.woodenspoon.com a rugby football charity which helps socially and physically disadvantaged children throughout the UK and Ireland.  Any help that new or existing customers can offer these worthwhile causes will always be much appreciated.
