The business was founded in February 1986 when the original owner identified a gap in the temperature controlled distribution market. Having spent many years working for major international bacon producer, he saw an increasing need for the urgent delivery of product samples and small orders in properly equipped vehicles. It was by then fast becoming unacceptable to merely “bung a few boxes in the boot of a car” so he took early retirement and Chillspeed was born. The next 11 years were spent developing the business into one with an increasing reputation for reliability, honesty and service of the highest quality.
Chillspeed was sold as a going concern in November 1997.
With the benefit of new technology and dynamic management, the new owner moulded this well established firm into an even more efficient express delivery service, whilst still maintaining the high levels of personal care its customers had come to rely on. Incorporating the business as Chillspeed Ltd in late 2012, The then owner sold the by now highly successful company on to Mr Stuart Martin in 2013.
Supported by a dedicated team of highly motivated drivers Stuart is determined to follow the fine example of their predecessors and drive Chillspeed Ltd even further forward into the world of temperature-controlled logistics. Although admittedly not one of the biggest in the business, the company remains justifiably proud of its hard-won reputation for still being one of the best.
